  1. Save Money On Gas With These Fuel Efficient Used Cars

    June 12, 2008 by Jill

Jalopnik has a list of 10 fuel efficient used cars. Some of them are going for under a grand, and some get over 50 mpg. Pretty f-ing good deal if you ask me.

  2. 6 Ex-war-plagued Vacation Destinations

    June 12, 2008 by Jill

Beautiful AngolaLooking for a good place to get away from it all? Why not visit a land once riddled in war? It sounds sarcastic, but these past playgrounds for fascists and guerrilla fighters are now safe to visit again and many of them are absolutely stunning. Plus, because many of these have not seen a huge boom in the tourism industry, the cost of visiting is cheap. ProTraveler has a great list of 6 spots to visit now that their conflicts are over. Cambodia, Angola (shown to the right) and Peru are a few of these beautiful destinations.

Also, MSN says Nicaragua and South America are also worth visiting these days for the same reasons. Their list of 10 bargain destinations is spectacular.

  3. 15 Cheap Father’s Day Gifts

    June 11, 2008 by Jill

I love this list from BankRate, it has 15 great ideas for cheap Father’s Day presents. I have done a few of these in the past and it worked great.

One year, I made my dad a card, wrote & printed a story of his life (check out Rue The Day on Sunday to read it) and made him a memorabilia book with all of my old family photos. He literally cried -which is not something my dad does, ever. It was a very cool and special Father’s Day and it ended up costing me $3 for the photo album.

A few other successful gifts I gave him were a hand-made ice cream cake, home-made pie and a home cooked meal with my sister.

What have you done to give your dad a great Father’s Day at little to no cost?

  5. Fast French Food For About the Same As A Carl’s Jr. Meal

I like Mimi’s. While many of the reviews in this blog will be based in one local area or another, Mimi’s is all over the USA. Best of all, if you’re a poor sucker like me, it’s one of the best semi-French places you can afford to eat at.

They have great to go options. Their food is inexpensive and you get a good quantity. So it’s awesome to run over and pick up some Mimi’s on the run rather than hitting a drive thru and it’s way healthier.

The muffins, French onion soup and fruity bread are fantastic. They are all exceptionally rich and flavorful.

My favorite dinner dish is the scallop ratatouille ravioli. It has a few huge scallops, salmon, multi-colored ravioli with an excellent ratatouille filling of tomatoes, eggplant and other yumminess.

For breakfast, they have a mind-blowingly awesome stuffed French toast with a cream cheese and orange marmalade filling. The whole thing is covered in a selection of fresh berries and powdered sugar.

Considering most of items are under $15 a person, this is a good safe bet for lunch or dinner whatever metropolitan city you are in.

    I’d happily give Mimi’s a 4.5 out of 5.

  6. Google Checkout offering $10 off $60 purchase

If you’re looking to buy something on the net, be sure to check Google shopping for $10 off a select number of stores. Of course, Windows Live search is now offering money back on many stores, so be sure to shop around.

  7. Advantage Rent A Car Rapes Customer in His Wallet

    June 9, 2008 by Jill

I’ve used Advantage Rent-A-Car before and was pleased with their low rates, but this is ridiculous. I urge everyone to avoid using the rental car service until they take this back. Low rates are good, but no one should have their wallet raped like this because their car was broken into. I certainly don’t trust them anymore.

  9. Need A Sex Change, Move To Cuba

    June 6, 2008 by Jill

Ok, so it’s not exactly easy to just move to Cuba, but if you really can’t afford a sex change and desperately need one, maybe you should take a nice trip from Florida via lifeboat. Thanks MSN.
